Description Description
Welcome to Sleepy Hollow Cabin!

Conveniently located in the Foscoe area, this home is 15 minutes away from Boone, Sugar Mountain, and Banner Elk. Pass through the charming one-lane covered bridge, rolling across the Watauga River. This renovated cabin is full of charm, from the tongue and groove ceilings to the pop of color in the kitchen. The living room is situated around the gas fireplace and TV. Fully relax for movies with the sofa that opens for lounging. Nearby, the dining room has beautiful wooden table with seating for everyone. From here, you may step onto the deck, or carry around to the kitchen. The kitchen is a blend of farmhouse and modern, with stainless appliances, new counters, and white beadboard. A table for two next to the large window gives the perfect spot for a cup of tea to start a chilly, mountain day. The hall wraps back around to the entryway, passing by the washer and dryer, a half bath, and the entrance to the main level queen suite. An eclectic mix of antiques and new linens bring a breath of fresh air to the room. Guests have a private full bathroom with a tub/shower combination, and the bedroom has a mounted TV over the dresser.  Back at the entry, follow the stairs up to the second full bathroom in the hallway, with a bedroom to each side. To the right is a second queen bedroom with TV, great for a second couple. At the other end of the hall is a third bedroom with two twin beds, a sofa, and TV.

If fresh air is what you crave, the back deck has two levels, separated by a small set of stairs. The main deck features an outdoor table and gas grill for meals. On the lower deck is a new hot tub, ready to soak your cares away. In this private neighborhood, an evening on the deck is as quiet as you'd like it to be.

Grandfather Vineyard and Winery is a 10 minute walk along the back road, or 3 minutes by car. You'll also find fishing, antiques, art galleries, and The Dog House Cafe just down the road.

Sleepy Hollow House allows up to 2 dogs in the home for an additional rent of $25 per night per pet.
Guests returning to Sleepy Hollow House may receive a discount of 10% to the room rent, not to be combined with other discounts to the room rent.

Our stay at our "home away from home" Sleepy Hollow house was great. The home is comfortable and well located to all the sights in the high country. Everything was neat and clean with all the amenities. We'll be back.

A comfortable home in a convenient location. Amenities included were great and the hot tub was wonderful! The neighborhood was quiet and the covered bridge at the community entry was lovely.

It had been 7 years since we stayed in the high country near Banner Elk, and we were so pleased to find this hidden gem of a house right in the midst of the three "B" s (Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk). We stayed in the house for the whole month of August, to get away from the heat of Florida, where we live, and we are so glad we did. This house is ideally located for easy access to all the towns in the area, and is midway between Boone and Banner Elk, less than 15 minutes away, and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We found the house clean and very well cared for. The kitchen had been upgraded, and fully appointed with all the conveniences for those who wanted to prepare all their meals there or none at all. All the pots and pans and utensils one could ever need were available, all in excellent condition. Even an electric pancake griddle, and clothes iron and ironing board. The dining room is large, with seating for 6-8 around a large table. The living area had a very comfortable sectional, and the interior has been decorated in a beautiful rustic manner with beautiful hardwood floors to make anyone feel the beauty and awe of the high country. Our main bedroom on the first floor was large with its own ample sized bath, and three good sized dressers/chest of drawers. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were also large and comfortable for guests and they share a full bath. There's also a powder room downstairs. Since we were there for a month, we used the washer/dryer often and all the appliances in the kitchen were new. The HVAC was very responsive whether the need was heat or AC, and while we used the gas fireplace only a few times, it would serve to warm the house wonderfully if needed. The tap water was cold for drinking and the hot water in all bathrooms and kitchen got hot quickly. Everything worked perfectly, including the internet and TVs in all rooms. The back porch was a haven for us. It is quiet, peaceful and completely private. The yard is heavily wooded, and the back porch is elevated as the house is built on a sloping landscape. The neighborhood is quiet and lush with vegetation. The two-level back porch is all new wood, and the large hot tub was a wonderful way to end the day. The outdoor grill is a professional size and worked perfectly. The front porch spans the whole front side of the house and is fully covered, nice for sitting outside in case it's raining. There is also an outdoor firepit in a quaint sitting area off to the side of the house. While at the house, you are in a wooded countryside neighborhood, but within a few minutes, you get on Rt 105 to go either toward Boone or Banner Elk. Blowing Rock is also quickly accessible by going through the Yonahlossee area. Once on Rt 105, the views are spectacular. Grandfather Mountain is only 15 minutes away and can be seen from the immediate vicinity. There are lots of antique shops and small stores very close by, and for the foody, there are too many restaurants to count. One of the special benefits for those who enjoy wineries is that the Grandfather Vineyard is literally a 2 minutes drive, where there is a beautiful venue for listening to live music, enjoying the vineyard views, or sitting by the adjacent creek for a picnic or enjoying their wonderful wines. This area in North Carolina offers endless things to do, during all times of the year. We so much enjoyed the climate and the magnificent views while driving just about anywhere in the high country, and, of course, the Blue Ridge Parkway that traverses right through the area. We loved this house and would recommend it for single or multiple families. We can't wait to get back there.

Anniversary Weekend
We enjoyed the cute house. It was dog friendly and we were able to bring our pup. The house was close to lots of fun things to do and communities to explore. Weather was wonderful so we were able to use the fire pit and hot tub.
