Skytop Chateau at The Summit of Beech

Skytop Chateau offered the perfect location for our annual extended family vacation. The house is accessed by a long, steep, winding driveway, which makes you feel like you're alone on top of the mountain. We had plenty of space and really enjoyed the long, clear mountaintop view with amazing sunsets. We really loved the large deck and beautiful great room. We also enjoyed Beech Mountain, nearby Banner Elk, and Grandfather Mountain as well as other daily trips to great hiking locations.

This house is at the top of a mountain ridge and secluded, perfect for soaking in the hot tub under the stars. The last few hundred yards are partly gravel and part paved though, so be mindful of driving conditions and your car's capabilities. The house itself is really interesting, it shows it's age (late 90s) in some ways stylistically, but it also is well equipped with updated appliances and modern conveniences. Both decks were nice for relaxing. The master bedroom and bath were great. The layout is perfect for multiple families. It is well equipped with appliances, cooking accessories, baby gear, flashlights, and plenty of random things you maybe didn't think to bring. The hosts were responsive. For example, the propane tanks for the grill were empty, but they had new ones to us by the next day, which was a Sunday, and offered to reimburse us if we needed to go grab some ourselves sooner. A little further from the slopes than other options, if that matters a lot to you.

Best view on Beech Mountain! Beautiful home stocked with everything we needed. The dart board, pool table and foosball were enjoyed by all and there were toys on hand for our little kids too - even a baby gate! The house was well stocked with all the essentials - olive oil, salt & pepper, seasonings, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwashing detergent, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

I couldn’t have asked for a better house for our ski trip at Beech Mountain. It was a beautiful property with stunning views. When we weren’t on the slopes, we spent a lot of time downstairs playing pool and foosball. 10/10 would recommend. We’ll be back for our next ski trip.

The view was spectacular! The house was very clean. The house was a little difficult to find in the dark, but we managed to find the house. The fireplace worked great. Downstairs there is a pool table that was enjoyed by everyone. We saw deer and wild turkeys every morning. It was just a wonderful weekend!

This house will set you up for one of the best experiences in North Carolina’s High Country. It is a great location for experiencing the outdoor activities in the area but secluded enough for relaxation with family and friends - and enjoying the amazing sunsets. Host communication is quick and thorough, the home amenities are great, and everything was perfectly clean. Highly, highly recommend.

Beautiful house. The main living area with an amazing view makes for a lovely place to spend mornings and evenings together with friends and family. The kitchen is connected to the dining area which makes cooking dinner social and fun. The drive up in the summer was easy even in a sedan. Would want 4WD in winter. House is clean. Host is super helpful.

I stayed here for a week with three friends - the Skytop Chateau is a beautiful home and a perfect mountain getaway. The mountain views (especially at sunset) are spectacular, and the hosts are super helpful and provided a comprehensive guide of the home and area. Highly recommend booking here for your next trip!

The "Skytop Chateau" is truly is an extraordinary location! It was incredible to have our kids literally "play in the clouds" a couple of times. Our two families of four each (8 people) enjoyed MORE than enough room to have our own spaces, and plenty of room to enjoy each other's company in the common areas. The drive is also extraordinary and visitors must heed to the advice of 4-wheel drive/chains in winter weather. We had a day and a half of ice/snow and were glad we planned for it with plenty of food and supplies the entire trip as we would not have made it down the mountain. The surrounding area is a roadtripper's dream with hiking, waterfalls, breweries and wineries, and a few touristy spots. We only stuck to outdoor adventures due to covid, but we have been to the area several times in the past and love it. Joseph was quick with communication and provided an extremely detailed "home manual" that was helpful. The views from the Skytop Chateau are priceless - even in an off season. We enjoyed a thunderstorm/lightning storm, windstorms, sunrises, sunsets and a winter storm all in one week! The light/color of the mountains constantly changes and the comforts of home were enjoyed from the comfortable setting provided in the home. We hope to visit again in the near future!

Beautiful home in a great location close to many activities and sights to see! The deck has spectacular views, and the layout of this three-story home was perfect for our three families-everyone had their own space. The downstairs living area was perfect for the kids to be together and parents to enjoy the quiet upstairs!

Amazing house, spacious but very cozy, the views are just magnificent! It is very close to all the local shops and restaurants, and the ski resort, but in the same time its tucked away so well, there are no other houses on that road, and you are just surrounded by nature and roaming deer. Would love to visit it in the summer time as well! The hosts were also amazing, we had clear directions on everything and quick and easy communication.
