Paws A While

Such a great house-it was perfect for our three families and kids. The host was quickly responsive when we had questions. The location is amazing- serene and quiet but also less than a ten minute drive to downtown blowing rock. We loved it and hope to come back!

Paws a While was a great place for our group of 8 children and 8 adults - plenty of room for everyone to spread out and we enjoyed the common space and the nice back porch! The property managers were very helpful and everything went smoothly with check-in, check-out, etc.

great house!! We had 4 families with kids all share the house and it was perfect. The owners had great communication prior to the stay. Everything was very clean and in good working order. The fire pit are and hot tub were both a great bonus! Would definitely stay here again!

There were 9 of us, ranging from 23 to 82 years old. Plus our dog. Everyone had a space! Loved the large dining table and the gracious deck. Although we did not use the firepit, the plateau was nicely separated from the house and was great for viewing and for yoga.

Everything about renting from Blue Ridge was easy. House was as advertised, and they were easily able to update it contract to include pets at the last minute. Nice touches with kitchen and bathroom necessities provided as well as a local bread gift upon arrival. Would rent with them again!

We had a group of 12 stay here, and all 4 groups were happy with this stay. Everyone had their own room, and the house is very clean. Our kids enjoyed running up to the fire pit area above the house. My parents enjoyed having their bedroom on the main level so they didn't have to climb any stairs. If we all travel together again, this is our pick.

The home was clean and ready when we arrived. No issues with the directions and code to the door. The home had everything we needed, especially a hot tub :). We had 9 adults and 3 kids and the home had plenty of space for all of us. I would definitely stay again!

We had a blast in our lovely property! We were visiting from different cities! Some of us were from Florida, Richmond, Chicago, Charlotte, Iowa... Your house was a dream weekend for me, "birthday girl!" (40, but don't feel like I'm above 25!) We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, the fire pit, and all the small details that make your house cozy. Laughs and love definitely filled your house this weekend, over dinner, games by the fire... It felt like a home away from home to share with others! Do hope to visit again! Thank you!

Our family of 12 stayed here comfortably! The house is large and beautiful. We had everything we needed in the house. They supply all basic necessities you need to get started during your stay. There was ample parking and we loved all of the outdoor space. The house is only a few short minutes from both Boone and Blowing Rock. We had a few small issues with the A/C but the hosts were very fast to respond and help us fix the situation. We couldn't be more pleased with their service. 10/10 recommend this house and rental company.

We want to thank you for our family's amazing weekend - your home was just perfect to help our family from 3 states gather to celebrate a reunion - while our niece/daughter graduated from Appalachian State - so convenient to Boone and all the high country sites. GREAT Airbnb for a mountain weekend with friends! We loved being able to bring our pups to this dog-friendly home in the mountains. The Airbnb was clean, spacious, and had an updated kitchen area. You are not able to walk to downtown from this location but do not fear it is just a quick drive away. Definitely recommend!

Thank you the great experience! My family had a wonderful stay. The home was clean and was secluded enough to enjoy privacy. The pit area was a great place to watch the stars at night, make smores and enjoy some outdoor games with the kids! We had a chance to visit the Appalachian Ski resort which was only 8 minutes away. We would definitely recommend this home for any family gathering.

Time is this worlds biggest thief, and we as a group were robbed of our yearly mountain trip in 2020. Luckily, this year we stumbled upon "Paws A While" to catch up on last time! From the fire pit,k to the hot tub, to the wildlife and everything in between this airbnb is a great microcosm of everything Boone. As we navigate our way to the end of our journey, we are THANKFUL and APPRECIATIVE of the opportunity to Paws A While and catch up on missed time together. All 14 of us had a blast @ Paws! We especially loved the deck & and the fire pit. Lots of stuff to do nearby. House is beautiful & perfectly laid out for a big group. 2020 was brutal, so this was a great opportunity in 2021 to all be together. WE came from 4 locations to spend the weekend together as a family. We opted not to take in much of the local beauty by hiking + swimming. But we spent all 3 days on the lovely deck - just listening to music, playing games + enjoying each others company. Everything was perfect! Couldn't ask for a better quiet retreat. The location was quiet comfy + big enough to have quiet spaces.

First of all, definitely follow the directions they give. GPS tries to take you on the scenic and trespassing route..ha ha! Second of all, you do have to have 4WD. It is a relatively short, but steep gravel driveway. Once you arrive to the freshly painted home, you can see the layout out of the property is brilliant and sets the stage for a private mountain top retreat with family and friends. If you arrive at night, have a flashlight handy because there the outside lights were not left on. The home is equipped with everything you could possibly need. While they give the basics to get started, bring extra trash bags, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pods. There is no laundry soap provided. There are extra towels for the hot tub. We were glad we brought firewood, fire starter, and matches. The fire pit area is fantastic! They communicate quickly when there is an issue or question. -- The outdoor motion lights have since been fixed and are in good working order - BRMR 7/28/21

There are 8 of us, all named in alphabetical order from A - H. 7 girls and 1 boy. We are from near Wilmington, NC. The housekeepers were very nice too Have a great summer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paws for a While! The location is wonderful, close enough to have access to civilization, and secluded enough to be quiet and comfortable both inside and outside. The spacious home allows for a large gathering and is laid out so that different sleeping schedules are afforded( we had 2 young children with opposing nap times). The fire pit has a very comfortable layout for daytime marshmallows and star gazing after dark. I would stay again .

We had a wonderful 2 nights here. Six of us old "farts" were cycling the entire length of the parkway from milepost "0" in Waynesboro, VA to milepost 467 in Cherokee, NC. Our stay here was our 1 rest day for the trip, where we are averaging 70 miles per day via bicycle. So we are off again this morning on this epic bucket list. Thanks so much.

This house is on a super steep hill, tucked away in the glorious Boone woods. Be prepared for quiet, despite being off the road we throughly enjoyed the sounds of the wind and river close by! The hot tub was a bonus and we enjoyed hanging on the deck every night. We took advantage of this houses location, 30 minutes to Grandfather Moutain, 15 minutes from Boonshine brewery, it truly was a great stay!

What a great mountain house for us to stay in along with my sister’s family! The 8 of us had ample room in this spacious and cozy mountain house and the kids enjoyed hanging and playing pool in the quiet basement area. The LR and DR were so spacious and cozy with a large comfy couch and large table to eat and play games on. The beds and linens were extremely soft and comfortable and were so nice to come home to after skiing at the Appalachian Mountain which was surprisingly a closer drive than we thought. Downtown Boone was just minutes away so we enjoyed being close by to a grocery store and the restaurants, and even took the teenagers for a drive through tour on App State’s campus.

The best Airbnb experience ever! 5 STAR +++ I can't say enough about this host or the property. We were looking for something that had that mountain feel while being unique. This is it! The huge house slept our entire group in style and comfort. The highlights of our trip (besides all the great food cooked by our tag along chef) had to be sitting on the big deck looking out through the trees and spending time around the fire pit. It's kind of difficult to tell from the photos but the fire pit is actually right out the door. When you walk past the hot tub there is a short driveway, 30 feet or so, going up hill to a huge open grass area with a massive rock fire pit. As we were here during winter we can see the lights twinkling at the ski resort. It was an absolutely amazing spot to sit fire side and sip cocoa... and we may have had some bourbon too. haha. We're going to book the house again in summer just to see the view with the trees full and green. It's like having one of those scenic pull offs like you see on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but in your back yard. Stay here! That's all I have to say.
