Description Description
This beautiful 4 bedroom mountain retreat is centrally located in the Matney countryside of Banner Elk.  Just minutes from the downtown area and short drive to both Sugar and Beech Mountain ski areas.  The Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster is another attraction located by the entrance to Sugar Mountain. Downtown Banner Elk offers some superb dining and is the home of Lees–McRae College.  A drive through the Lees-McRae campus will treat you to some beautiful stone architecture and lovely landscapes.  A little less than a thirty minute drive and you can be in Boone where you can experience the feel of a “little big city.”  Boone is the home of Appalachian State University and Samaritan’s Purse. Visit your App State student and have them out to Nights in Camelot for a peaceful mountain retreat.  Close enough to everything yet out of the hustle and bustle of life.

This home sits at 4200 feet above sea level and offers beautiful layered views of the surrounding mountains.  At this altitude you can enjoy very pleasing cool temperatures year round and beautiful snow in the wintertime which can happen from late October through May. With no ambient light, the night sky is usually breath-taking with gorgeous sunsets and bright stars as you sit on the front second story deck in Amish made rocking chairs and a porch swing. With mature landscaping you’ll enjoy tall evergreens, hydrangeas and  striking rhododendrons in several shades. Located on nearly an acre of gently sloping cleared land the front yard offers lots of potential for lawn games and the back deck looks out on some mighty oaks which are lit at night. You’ll experience lots of wildlife especially in the summertime.  Chipmunks are fun to watch, dashing and darting and chasing each other around the yard.  There are many varieties of birds, who will visit if you choose to feed them. You may see rabbits, squirrels and deer wander through the yard while you are enjoying the beauty seen from either the front or rear deck. Also enjoy time spent relaxing in the brand new hot tub or sitting around the stone firepit located off of the driveway with seating on solid wood timbers and picnic style benches.

The main level of the home has a lovely vaulted tongue-in-groove ceiling and an open floor plan between the kitchen and living room. Beautiful views are yours from just about every window and door.  Lots of glass to let in the beauty.  Most of the furniture was custom hand-made by the Amish in Pennsylvania and brought directly to the home. There are many custom made barnwood cabinets and light fixtures throughout the home.  The light fixture over the kitchen island  is made from reclaimed beams from a barn built in the 1880s. A custom sliding barn style door separates the master bedroom from the master bath area. There is genuine leather furniture in front of the wood-burning stove and a 75" smart TV for family movie night! There is a superb sound system with a great receiver and a large subwoofer to get that theater experience while watching your favorite shows or movies.  You can enjoy the Disney channel, Hulu, YouTube TV and Espn included with your stay.  You can also log in to your Netflix, Amazon Prime or your other accounts on this TV.  There is a DVD player and lots of movies for you to enjoy or you can bring your own. All TVs in the home are Smart TVs. While enjoying the peaceful bliss in this mountain retreat you can choose to leave your digital devices at home or enjoy blazing fast fiber wi-fi available throughout the home.

The kitchen is complete with stainless appliances, a gas range, double ovens, microwave and a large island! There is also a nice size pantry, a unique coffee station with a Keurig coffee maker. There is also a half bath near the kitchen.
The master bedroom is on the main level and has a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a tiled shower with a bench seat, and double vanities at the sink and heated tile floors. This bedroom also has its own door leading onto the front second story deck with a gorgeous view.

Upstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms that share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom (shower and tub) and a heated tile floor. Each of these bedrooms have a bunk bed that features an extra long twin bed over a queen bed. Total sleeping capacity of 6 people between the two upstairs bedrooms. There is a barnwood bookcase in the upstairs hallway stocked with lots of books and a children's play area with a bent twig gate located in the loft.  The kids can play and look down on the lower level and the parents have a full view of the play area from downstairs.

On the lowest level of the home is another bedroom with a queen bed and private bath and tiled shower (no tub). There is a door in this bedroom that leads directly onto the front patio. Also on this level you will find a wet bar, wine cooler, remote control gas heating stove, a high top chess table and a 22 foot shuffleboard table for guests to enjoy!  There is also a 55” TV for those movies or sports games.

This is the perfect place for your next family or group retreat to the high country! Enjoy a relaxing environment in a beautiful rustic setting with all of the comforts of home and surrounded by God’s beauty.

Perfect Cabin for Daughter's Wedding
We had everything we needed and loved the cabin. It was close to our daughter's wedding venue. We had the bridal party get ready in the am there and it was the perfect space. We ordered 1 night of wood and ended up getting 2 nights worth and then had another bundle appear in the driveway- very generous. Thank you!

The home was beautiful and very, very clean. The beds and the sofas and chairs were comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked. The home was cozy and inviting. While it will comfortably accommodate 10 people, we only had 5 adults and it did not feel too big. The front porch was peaceful, with great views of mountains and entertaining chipmunks.

This home was better than expected and no details forgotten! We had more amenities than you could imagine and more comfortable & peaceful than any place we have ever stayed! So many thoughtful extras and very clean. We had a large group and everyone had the same great things to say! Would love to have stayed a few days longer! Will definitely be back as soon as possible. Peaceful porch views you won't forget!!

Fantastic location! The house itself was also great with top notch amenities. Great TV and sound set up, the owners didn't go cheap on electronics and components. Really felt like they designed it for high end tastes. Can't wait to return.

Our "Nights in Camelot" were perfect. The house is fantastic ... big enough to spread out but also has a cozy feel to it. Great electronics and technology, along with detailed operation instructions if needed. Kitchen is well equipped. (I always appreciate a well stocked coffee station!...thanks!) We enjoyed the restaurants, shops and activities in Banner Elk too. A nice little town with very friendly people. Communication with Blue Ridge was easy and efficient. Recommend 100%.

Such a great stay! Close to everything in downtown Banner Elk and short drive to Blowing Rock. Loved the kitchen and living room where our group could all be together in one open space. Gorgeous views from the front porch. Overall, a wonderful pick and would highly recommend!

This home was perfect for our vacation. I almost don't even want to leave such a great review so people don't book it up when we vacation next. The home was extremely clean. Kitchen was impressively stocked with appliances which we appreciated as we mostly ate our meals at the home. Outdoor grilling area was awesome with a griddle, propane, and charcoal grill. We were all also extremely pleased with minimal checkout “demands”. Sometimes you end up wondering why you pay such high cleaning fees but are expected to basically do it all yourselves. Not this place though! Thanks for hosting us for a great vacation.

We loved our stay at Knights of Camelot! The house was spectacular, very clean, spacious and comfortable for a family of 7. We loved the recommendations left by the host for favorite restaurants, things to do, hikes and tips. We all enjoyed the hot tub, shuffle board, chess and beautiful scenery. The internet connection was very reliable and clocked in at 100mbps up and down which was great for doing a little remote work as well.

So cozy!
This was by far one of the nicest and most clean VRBO’s I have ever stayed in. The check in and check out process was easy. There are QR codes all around the house that links to FAQ’s which was very helpful! There were plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, and even towels for the hot tub! This was the perfect vacation house for my family and I. We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, from the time of arrival the snow started falling, continued for 2 days straight and we didn't need to leave and go anywhere. The home had all that was included in the description and we brought nearly enough food for the winter anyway! The home was well equipped, was spacious and fit our needs well.

Perfect location! Tucked away for a quiet and relaxing stay, but just a few minutes to winery, shopping, dining and other area attractions. Surprisingly "As Expected!"
The rental was surprisingly “as expected”. If u rent on VRBO very often u usually expect to b disappointed about something you didn't think to ask about. All went well with this rental. We even had blankets in the closet! Thank you very much.

The home and location were beautiful!
A peaceful location close to Banner Elk town center and about 25 mins to downtown Boone and about 30 to Blowing Rock. Up some windy roads but a beautiful drive and the home itself was so clean, charming and inviting and perfect for our family getaway. We loved making s'mores by the fire at the fire pit outside and really enjoyed rocking on the front porch and looking out over the hills. Would definitely stay again!

A great getaway
We had 2 families of 4 staying in this house, and it was PERFECT for us. Enough space for the kids to have beds of their own. We were able to have a glass of wine and look at the beautiful views. And Banner Elk's quaint downtown is only about 10 minutes away. We did Grandfather Mountain, Valle Crucis, and Banner Elk Winery also. A perfect location for getting to do some of the high country's best attractions. Response time was amazing and the service from the rental company was perfect. Highly recommend.

This was great rental experience for us! They were great at providing clear information and expectations about the rental itself as well as the process to include check-in/check-out. They were very responsive with any questions we had while there. We loved the house itself...particularly the view. We will definitely use Blue Ridge again!

Excellent home away from home
The cabin was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed in the kitchen and the laundry room. There was plenty of room for our family and our friends. The cabin was comfortable, amenities were convenient, and the cabin felt like home away from home. We enjoyed the view, sitting in the rocking chairs and the swing on the front porch, and the back porch for grilling and enjoying our dinners. The wi-fi worked great and the AC was a must in the summer.
