Welcome to Lessons from Mars!

Sitting atop Beech Mountain, this newly built home is the perfect place to settle in. 

The main level, accessed with just one step from the parking area, has a central great room with high ceilings, a wall of windows and sliding glass doors overlooking the views, a stone gas log fireplace, a built in log mantle, and large screen TV. Comfortable furniture is arranged around the fireplace and looking out the windows. Also in the great room is a dining table with room for all, featuring long bench style seating and two cozy head seats. Just steps away you'll find the fully stocked kitchen with granite counters and stainless appliances.

Just steps through the sliding glass doors you'll find the gas grill and large hot tub. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views! 

The master suite, in the east wing of the main floor, has a King bed, and a private bathroom with a custom tiled shower, a granite vanity, and a linen closet.

The upper loft suite features a large king bed, with gas fireplace and HDTV. There is a balcony overlooking the large living room, so you'll never miss out on any of the action! 

Downstairs in the "bear cave" you'll find a spacious mother in law suite with a full kitchen! There is a queen bed along with a full bathroom. Perfect for guests that need their own space! Please note that the lower level is accessed only from an outside entrance. 

This home was truly designed with everyone’s comfort in mind. Close proximity to Beech Ski Resort means you can hit the slopes during the day and watch the stars twinkle while you soak in the hot tub. 

Looking to stay longer during a quieter time of year? Stays of 5 or 6 nights outside of summer, fall, and holiday dates automatically receive 10% off posted rates!

Additional Notes:
- Repeat guests returning to Lessons From Mars can receive a 5% discount not to be stacked with other discounts.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. 
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
.-This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
- Please observe a quiet hour of 10PM as there are full time residents nearby. 
- AWD or 4WD vehicles are required during winter months.
- Parking space for up to 3 vehicles. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Bookings canceled within 24 hours of their creation will receive a full refund of payments. Bookings canceled more than 24 hours after their creation are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
